Founded in 1954, Relais & Châteaux today consists of an association of over 580 unique and independent hotels and restaurants. Hoteliers and chefs share the passion for their job and the desire for sincere relationships with their guests.

From the French Provence and Napa Valley vines to the beaches of the Indian Ocean, Relais & Châteaux is present on five continents, inviting you to experience the lifestyles of different cultures and immerse yourself in the unique history of mankind.

The members of Relais & Châteaux strive to preserve and promote the richness and diversity of world cuisines and the tradition of hospitality. The commitment to protect the local heritage and the environment was recorded and presented by UNESCO in a 2014 manifesto.

In Germany, 22 houses and restaurants are currently members of the association. From Sylt to Upper Bavaria, some of the most renowned hoteliers and many of the top chefs in Germany are represented here; some for more than 25 years. Several Routes du Bonheur combine the most beautiful destinations of Germany and thus the visit of established houses with practiced hospitality and excellent cuisine.
